I would definitely look for and read free romance stories on the web if I happened to be a fan of the genre. I suppose the free romance stories would have appealed to me more during my adolescent years or perhaps even my early twenties when I was more of a romantic and sentimental individual than I am today. However, these days I find that the free romance stories you can find online don’t have much appeal for me. Perhaps I have become excessively cynical over the years because I no longer think that real relationships resemble those portrayed in free romance stories. Instead it seems to me that these free online romance novels are the fantasies of idealistic women.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that life does not have plenty of romantic moments or that some people don’t have relationships that are full of drama. Instead I am saying that for the most part real life relationships tend to be steadier and less dramatic. You could say that I am missing the point of the free online romance novel since without the drama reading them would obviously be a waste of time. What’s more such an argument would be one hundred percent right. However I’m a realist and the romance genre is simply too sentimental for my personal taste. If you think I am cold hearted because you happen to like the genre there are plenty of free romance stories on the web. You can read them to your heart’s content whenever you have a spare hour or two to fill.
